THE Horrabridge Beyond 2000 Group has been wound up, with thanks to everyone for their support over the past five years.

The group was formed after the Village Appraisal was carried out by the parish council to look at improvements for the village. Those undertaken included improvements to the area opposite the Leaping Salmon, with new granite setts, new seating and a small garden against the bridge.

A village information board has also been provided for the benefit of locals and visitors and improved access into Weir Park has been created, together with a new pathway through the park.

It was the completion of the path which led to the decision to wind-up the group and chairman Mike Jessop thanked all members past and present and the many organisations and local people who had helped along the way.

The parish council will hold the balance of the grant monies received against any future costs and the balance of donations will be handed to the Horrabridge Cavaliers to administer through their charity fund.
