THIS Sunday (August 7) Mary Tavy will be celebrating what it means to live in the countryside for this year’s Mary Tavy Country Fayre.

There will be opportunities to see and get close to farm animals, including watching sheep shearing, and there will be a dog show, vintage tractors and a car boot sale as well as fun and games.

The day will also feature a produce and flower show.

The judging will be about quality and consistency. Entry forms are available from the Post Office and Stores.

The country fayre is organised by the trustees of the recreation ground and starts at noon.

See the Times’ forthcoming events section on page 17 for more info.
