TAVISTOCK Sir Francis Drake Bowling Club began their week with Monday?s home match against a visiting Devon County Ladies representative team. The match ended as a 102-86 victory for the Tavistock team, after they won five of the six rinks played. Skip Mike Allen and his crew of Barry Chappell, Wallace Northey and Charlie Cummings won 24-14. Skip Norman Paramor and his team of Mike Silcox, Lauri Smith and Malcolm Bloomer won 18-16, thanks to them picking up two ?five shot? and one ?seven shot? winning ends during their match. Skip Colin Tremaine and his team of John Smith, Gordon Northey and Henry Lovell achieved a 23-14 victory, while skip Vic Stacey and squad of George Blackburn, Pat Sykes and Brian Ellicott won 24-9. Skip Sue Silcox and team of Pam Jones and Marion Allen picked up three shots on the last end of their game to win 15-14, while skip Ernie Piper and team of David Perry and Ray Meneer went down 18-19. Wednesday saw a mixed team facing visitors from Plymouth Sir Francis Drake Club in a five rink home match which ended as a 93-79 victory for the Tavistock players after they won three rinks, drew one and lost one. Skips? results were: Sue Silcox won 20-17, Norman Paramor won 28-11, Ernie Piper won 16-15, John Smith drew 18-18 and Der Saunders lost 11-18. Thursday saw six rinks of Tavistock players facing facing the touring team ?Tarring Priory?. The match ended as a 120-111 victory for the visitors after each side won three rinks. Tavistock skips? results were: Vic Stacey won 27-18; Ernie Piper won 25-13; Malcolm Bloomer won 21-17; Sue Silcox lost 11-24; Der Saunders lost 12-30 and Mike Allen lost 15-18. The ladies? section finished the season off by facing North Tawton on Tuesday and winning the match 51-43. Skips? results were: Betty Browse won 19-10; Hazel Lovell drew 14-14 and Yvonne Meneer lost 18-19.
