THE Lambs are still looking for their first victory of the season while the home side recorded their fourth consecutive win.

The home side almost took a first minute lead but Andy Meeds brought off a fine save to deny Mark Pope. Chris Tilbury went agonisingly close before the best chance of the half fell to new signing Martin Biles. Duncan Duthie?s diagonal ball found the striker in space in the Truro area but he blazed over the ball with just Andy Butcher to beat.

The Lambs had to be thankful to keeper Meeds for the rest of the half as he kept the scoreline goalless.

Tavistock had a chance at the start of the second half but Pete Southcott?s free header from a Ryan Daley corner went wide.

Meeds tipped a Richard Young effort over his bar and the Lambs had strong appeals for penalty turned down as Biles looked to have been pushed off the ball.

Biles was again unlucky as he sliced a shot wide after Parker had headed on a Duthie free kick. Strong appeals for another penalty went unheard as Daniel Fadida went sprawling in the area on 69 minutes and from that the home side opened their account. A quick free kick by Steven Hawke found Paul Wollstencroft to allow him to send in a low cross for Ben Goldring to shoot past Meeds.

It was all over five minutes later as Young challenged for the ball from a long clearance from keeper Butcher and it fell nicely for him to give Meeds no chance with a fine finish.

Another disappointing result for the Lambs but one victory will turn it around.

Team: Andy Meeds, Alan Yendall, Duncan Duthie, Pete Southcott, Darren Wooley (sub Ryan Daley 65m), Chris Tilbury, Kevin McShane (sub Adrian Payne 65m), James Steer, Martin Biles, Kevin Parker, Daniel Fadida (sub Matt Martin 85m).

This Saturday the Lambs play in the FA Vase for the first time against Screwfix 1st division side Ilfracombe Town with a 3pm kick off.

The Lambs will be looking to take the scalp of their higher league opponents with prize money at stake and the prospect of another home tie in two weeks time.

On Tuesday Falmouth Town are at Langsford Park in the league with a 7.30pm kick-off, providing the Vase game has been decided on the Saturday as Wednesday has been pencilled in for a possible reply.
