THE ladies of Okehampton Golf Club recently entertained Torrington Ladies. The format of the day was a greensomes stableford. Although Okehampton won three matches to one, the ladies of Torrington enjoyed the day, and did appreciate the very well presented course.
The final of the Jarman Bowl, which was played by Pam Jarman and Mo Huggins, was a close fought match with both ladies playing well, but Pam held it together and finally won 2 and 1.
A rather showery day saw a depleted field playing the monthly stableford. Indeed the weather turned out quite well, and the scores were very good.
The winner of the silver division, putting Monday?s disappointment behind her, was Mo Huggins. She had a wonderful round of 40 points, bringing her handicap down to 11. Second was Lyn Atkinson with a solid round of 35. Winning the bronze division was vice captain Lorna Rolfe with another good round of 37 points, second was Gladys Thatcher with 26 points.
