THE Okehampton branch of the Devonshire Association are holding a talk on the history of Calstock Viaduct at the Ockment Centre today (Thursday) at 3.30pm.

Vic Harmon from Harrowbarrow will give the talk following his detailed studies of the viaduct.

Admission is free but donations are welcome and refreshments will be available after the talk.

The branch resumes its meetings at the Ockment Centre for the winter period following three group walks in the summer led by Paul Rendell and Charles Westlake.

Further meetings for the branch at the centre in 2011 will be held on October 20, with a talk about the history of Hatherleigh by Brian Abell, and on East Okement Farm by Dr Tom Greeves on November 17.
