Bude Veterans 11 Okehampton Veterans 26 OKEHAMPTON started well with a brace of tries from Daryl Chapman, one of which was a long range individual effort, both converted by Evan Rees. Okehampton then defended for long periods allowing Bude two penalties and an unconverted try. Just before half time Phil Heard was asked to leave the field for foul play. After half time Okehampton made a couple of strategical changes, bringing Bob Ewen and Dave Watts on. Bob won ball close in for Evan Rees to chip the defence to score under the posts, followed by a scamper down the wing by first teamer Watts to score in the corner. The Bude coaches picked Keith Lee as man of the match. On Saturday Okehampton 1sts were handed a place in the final of the Devon Junior Cup when Old Public Oaks cried off unable to raise a side. The final is to be played on Sunday April 2 at Okehampton.
