THROWLEIGH residents Vera and Sydney Ryall recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at a party with family and friends.

The couple moved to West Devon 20 years ago after spending many years working and living in mainland Europe.

On moving to Devon they ran a dairy herd on a farm near Okehampton with their son Jeremy but for the past ten years have lived in Throwleigh where they take part in many local activities.

Mr and Mrs Ryall married at St Francis Church in Osterley, Middlesex. They have three children and eight grandchildren and their anniversary celebration at a hotel near Bath was arranged by their eldest daughter Susan and her husband.

The celebration was attended by family members and their many friends including their best man who had served in the RAF with Mr Ryall during the latter part of the second world war.
