OKEHAMPTON and Chagford were among the many communities across Devon which commemorated the 70th anniversary of VE Day.

Okehampton Camp held its own short ceremony with members of the Royal British Legion, the ATC and ACF contingents and members of the Armed Forces.

The date coincided with the start of the Ten Tors Challenge. A number of Ten Tors participants took the opportunity to commemorate the ending of the Second World War in Europe 70 years ago.

Chagford's Jubilee Hall also hosted a VE Day celebration dinner on Friday. The dinner had a World War Two theme with guests in fancy dress and music from the era.
