WINDOWS at Tavistock College which were replaced last week after previous damage have been vandalised again ? within 12 hours. College facilities manager Tony Gilbert said the replacement windows ? which had cost more than £2,000 ? had been put in place and finished by 3pm last Thursday afternoon. ?On Friday morning when we came in the majority of the ones put in were damaged,? he said. Twelve double-glazed units were affected this time. ?It?s disheartening. As fast as we get it done they come along and damage it again.? Security cameras on site had not picked up those responsible. The damage will cost in the region of £800 to repair. ?It doesn?t make a good classroom environment for pupils to come into. Fortunately it is the outside panes that are damaged. We will get them replaced as quickly as possible, but it takes a while and they have to be specially made,? Mr Gilbert said. He anticipated insurance premiums would rise as a consequence of the damage. It also cost the college extra to have the vandalism repaired out of school hours. The damage is thought to have been caused on Thursday evening, and anyone with any information is asked to contact Tavistock police on 08452 777 444.
