A NEW 'dancercise' class in Whiddon Down has been set up in response to desire for the class.
Set up by Active Villages and OCRA, the classes will be led by experienced instructor Lynne Rogers. The simple and fun classes will utilise simple dance choreography with a wide range of music to help people get fit and active.
Active Villages is a countywide programme co-ordinated by Active Devon and delivered in the area by OCRA and West Devon Borough Council. It seeks to support rural communities to develop long-term sports, dance, fitness, cycling, walking, extreme sports and any other activities. Northlew, South Tawton, Drewsteignton, Okehampton Hamlets, Bridestowe, Sampford Courtenay and Exbourne are among the places to have benefitted from the scheme.
The new class starts today, (Thursday), in Whiddon Down Village Hall from 11.15am to 12.15pm. The class will run at this time each Thursday, and people can turn up for the first time to any session. The first five weeks cost £2.50 each. For more information call OCRA on 01837 54546.
