Okehampton 4

USHC (A) 0

OKEHAMPTON started somewhat tentatively, but survived early pressure. They used the full width of the pitch. Tim Morgan, attacking wide on the right, crossed accurately for Simon Garland to collect the ball and move it onto Steve Sage. Sage made no mistake by opening the scoring.

Garland did well to collect a rebound from the keeper's pads and add a second Okehampton goal.

US had a chance to get back into the game, but the Okehampton's back three of Clapham, Jarvis and Titchener, backed up by keeper Harvey, were solid.

Okehampton restarted with a vengeance with the whole team working hard and the forwards chasing half chances.

Okehampton won a number of short corners. Sage's accurate delivery of these corners gave Robert Duffey time to stop the ball clearly and Richard Jones' shot added to the Okehampton tally.

Garland added a second goal; scavenging in the circle, he picked up a cross hit the post and scored on the rebound.

The three points keep Okehampton in contention at the top of the table and should be a morale booster before this week's trip to Penzance.
