A HOTEL and two guesthouses in West Devon are celebrating this week after being recognised by the RAC for their high standards.
Percy?s Country House and Restaurant at Virginstow has scooped the prestigious Gold Ribbon award for ?superlative standards? of comfort, hospitality, food, service, customer care and guest awareness.
The hotel, which is well known for its fine food and accommodation, was one of only two in the county to receive this honour.
In the guest accommodation category the RAC?s Little Gem award for the highest standards of excellence went to four five-diamond rated properties in Devon including Moor View House at Lydford and Lydgate House at Postbridge.
The RAC?s head of hotels and travel Richard Day said the competition to win one of these awards was always intense and Devon had won a total of eleven ? a fantastic achievement for the county?s hospitality industry? he said.
