BIRD lovers have a unique opportunity to explore the upper stretches of the Tamar on a guided canoe trip taking place on Sunday July 3. Canadian canoes will allow visitors quietly to observe birds that live on a river in the heart of an area recognised for its natural beauty and home to peregrine falcons, herons and kingfishers. The two-hour trip, organised by Canoe Tamar and Tamar Valley AONB Service, will depart from Morwhellam Quay for Gunnislake?s Weir Head at 3pm.
