A YOUNG girl from Princetown Primary School saw her winning mosaic design come to life on Sunday at an awards ceremony.

Year 6 pupil Charlotte Wood was named the winner of a competition run by Jo Potter, voluntary youth worker at Princetown Pavilion Youth Club. The competition involved children at the school making a design for a mosaic mural to be created on the wall of Princetown's youth centre.

Charlotte was pleased to see her design had been added to the mosaic which was created by Jo as a lasting piece of art made by the young people of the village.

During the ceremony, youth worker Paul Dobbie presented awards to many young members, marking their achievements within the club.

Shannon Worth, Ronnie Spooner, Kayleigh Lambert and Gaby Neal all helped make cakes and biscuits for the event, with the cooking being led by youth worker Caroline Down.
