TAVISTOCK will be disappointed that they came away with nothing after creating many chances that failed to hit the back of the net.
Tavistock looked good in the build up play and had a solid back four, but they could just not make the final pass they wanted to break free.
Sticker were attacking fast but good challenges from Billy Colton and good leadership from Andy Parnowski in the middle stopped Sticker from breaking free. Tavistock had been on top until the 40th minute when one hiccup cost them the game following a sloppy corner conceded by the defender. The corner was swung in, flicked on and headed home by the Sticker left winger.
Tavistock tried to claw one back before half time but couldn't find the back of the net.
The second half was full of chances for the home side. The passing was good and the defence were doing their job well but Tavistock just couldn't score. Shots were flying high and wide and Tavistock were getting frustrated.
Tavistock strikers Paul Cowling and Chris Faulkner came close but couldn't get that equaliser. Euan McCall also came close when his shot heading for the top left corner was saved well by the Sticker keeper.
The home side protested for a penalty for what they saw as a push in the back on Chris Faulkner, but the referee waved away the protest and blew his whistle for full time.
l Tavistock AFC's next game is against St Blazey away in the South West Peninsula Premier League, kick-off 3pm while Tavistock Reserves entertain Topsham at home in the Devon Premier Cup, ko 2.30pm.
