Torquay Ladies 4

Okehampton Ladies 3

THE ladies were very unlucky not to pick up their first points of the season after being 3-0 down early in the second half of this game which was played in atrocious conditions.

The first half had seen this young side struggle against the elements and concede 2 goals against a side yet themselves to win a game this season.

In the second half the Okes finally started to find some rhythm and with Michelle Vaughan producing some flowing football from midfield scored three quick goals through Naomi Wilkins, Clare Stanbury and Michelle herself.

This produced an exciting last half hour to the game in which the Okes had the majority of the possession but were unable to find away through a packed Torquay defence.

In the dying minutes with Okehampton pressing for the winner Torquay scored a goal on the counter attack to take the honours.

Naomi Wilkins was awarded player of the match. Sunday?s game is in Simmons Park, weather permitting, against the high flying Georgeham and Croyde with a 3pm kick off.
