Gunnislake 1

St Minver 1

ON ten minutes Gunnislake came close to opening the scoring when an Andy Southcott centre was headed against the crossbar by Paul Tomkies.

Midway through the half Tomkies ran onto an excellent Neil Kinger pass, but failed to find the target. Shortly afterwards, Wayne Thialmann was inches from scoring when he just failed to reach a Joe Pulley centre.

The scoring was not broken until two minutes into the second half. Southcott played in Thialmann who forced the ball to Lee Underwood. He found the target with a well-struck shot from the edge of the penalty area.

The visitors then had their best spell. For 30 minutes they did all the attacking and equalised.

Proceedings swung fro and to as the two promotion-chasing sides each searched for a winning goal.

No sooner had Gunnislake cleared from a goalmouth scramble than their player-manager Southcott produced a good run and shot, but without success.

Gunnislake almost scratched victory but for the second time of the afternoon Tomkies was denied by the woodwork.
