THIRD Tavistock Brownies went undercover recently for a 'Spy Night'.
The girls, aged from seven to ten, got into the swing of the evening by dressing up in their 'spy' outfits with a range of hats, dark glasses and moustaches.
During the event, they undertook a number of activities based on codes and encrypted messages.
One group were deciphering a semaphore message. another group was learning to pass information by hand signing and a third were using Morse code and anagrams to find answers to a treasure hunt. The last group used 'walkie talkies' to send messages using the phonetic alphabet.
There are several Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units in the Tavistock area who would welcome any adult volunteers. Visit the volunteer bureau in Tavistock library for contact details.
