OKEHAMPTON U9s travelled to Exeter Saracens for the end of season 20 team tournament and performed heroically with all 12 returned with their heads held high after remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament.

Okehampton won all four of their group games to top group D and move forward to the semi finals. The whole squad played its part in four impressive group victories.

They defeated Cullompton 5-0 with a try from Leon Horne. This was followed with a hard fought 10-5 win over a Dartmouth side that had only lost one competitive fixture in the last two seasons. Scorers in this game were Leon Horne and Gregory Daniel.

In the third group match against Ivybridge, Oke triumphed 15-5 with another brace from Leon Horne and a single from the ever improving Simon Moody.

In their last group game Oke achieved a 20-0 win against Totnes. This time Gregory Daniel crossed for one try and the prolific Leon Horne added three more.

The Okes marched on to meet unbeaten Kingsbridge in the first semi final.

This was to prove an immense encounter with both sides playing with incredible skill, commitment and determination in an highly impressive 5-5 draw.

Leon Horne was again on the spot as he crossed for the leveller.

The sides could not be separated but Oke were disappointingly eliminated on tries scored in their respective group matches.

Credit goes to all twelve players plus coaches Graham, Tina, Jamie and Tom who have managed to greatly improve the boys as players and engender a fantastic team spirit and ethos among the entire squad.
