AFTER five weeks without playing Okehampton were relieved to have a game with South Molton being the visitors.
Okehampton's pack took early control giving plenty of useful ball to the backs who made some good breaks.
Sam Vincent in his first game of the season along with Sam Ewen conducted the backs well and with some good tackling from Matthew Johns and Henry Cooper. South Molton were on their back foot a lot of the time allowing Craig, Corey and Bradley to run at them with Bradley Ausden scoring the first try and after more pressure Matt Johns went over for his try.
The forwards were now having a go themselves with Buster Francis, Leigh Hughes and Chris Courtier driving through well with some good support play by Tom Elliot, Gareth Williams, Thomas White and Felix Gardener allowing Lloyd Heard to break off of the back of a maul and score ending the first half 15-0.
Despite the rusty hands of the players and silly mistakes Okehamptons pressure started to tell with Chris Courtier scoring the first of his two tries.
With a few changes and a lapse in concentration led to South Molton scoring a deserved try but Okehampton came back with a big run by Craig Dennis off of some good work inside to go over for a try.
