Okehampton U14s 33

Paignton U14s 12

OKEHAMPTON started slow, allowing the opposition centre to round the back line and finish in the corner.

The home sides team spirit did not dampen though, and they came straight back through a well worked move which saw Luke Liversidge snipe through the whole back line to score under the post.

Heard and Cooper always looked dangerous in the backs, with their defence solid as ever. Josh Bickely had another superb all round game and was rewarded with a try of individual brilliance.

Ike Francis returned from injury to stampede down the touch line, shrugging off last gasp tackles to score in the corner to make it 21-5. Okes' man of the match Zack Ponsford was everywhere, making sure the opposition number eight was getting nowhere on his watch.

With strong forward play from the home pack, Ponsford soon found himself crossing the line to convert his own try and make it 28-5. To the away side's credit, the Paignton backs did not let off and through good hands scored in the corner to make it 28-12.

Patrick Webb came off the bench and came on charging down three quarters of the pitch. With Paignton players unable to bring Webb down until the away teams 22m line, the Oke pack took over and made strong yards through Mortimer and Pillavant before Webb dived on the ball and scored his first try of the season to make it 33-12.
