Oke Argyle U14s 0

St Martin's U14s 1

IN a blood and thunder encounter, it was a fine advertisement for the league with great team play from both sides.

The first half was end to end with chances for both sides, Foggy's shot hit the crossbar and again Argyle thought they'd broken deadlock when the St Martin's keeper fumbled the ball; Ross Voaden was quick to pounce and as the ball broke he tapped it into the empty net the referee awarded a foul on the keeper.

The second half started brightly for Okehampton who were pressing and they continued to have the better of the half.

It was a great team effort by Argyle with all playing with passion and closing down the opposition. The turning point came just three minutes from the end when St Martin's were awarded a free kick and their centre forward struck a thumping shot in the top corner which Callum Goodwin had no chance of reaching.

Although Okehampton pressed for an equaliser, they just ran out of time to experienced their first league defeat of the season. Argyle had strong performances from Ben Bickle, Ben Barkwill , Rhys Palmer and Josh Stanbury, while their player of match was Ryan Gross.
