Okehampton U13s 48 Launceston U13s 0 ON a bright and sunny morning Launceston kicked off and Okehampton took possession to start a series of attacks, which showed how well they had taken instructiona from their coaches. In the fifth minute Luke Vincent launched an attack which penetrated the defence and passed the ball onto Dean Folland to score the first try converted by Liam Wilkins. Play restarted and Okehampton again took up the challenge and put continual pressure on Launceston. Robert Dunn for the home side put in the next converted try. Play flowed around the centre of the pitch for some time until Okehampton broke out again with a try by Jordan Cornthwaite swiftly followed by a second converted try for Dean Folland just before the interval. The second half showed that Okehampton had total control of the game not allowing Launceston much possession. Robert Dunn opened the second half score line with a good try in which all the forwards played their part. Dean Folland then took the ball inside the Oke half and with an excellent run and well executed up and under kick scored again. Okehamption kept up the pressure and allowed prop forward Lee a chance for a try; after a good run he was held up just short of the line but a good pass gave John Malstead the opportunity to score and for Liam Wilkins to convert. John Malstead went on to score Okehampton?s final try just before the final whistle. Tribute must be given to the wingers Jack Thomas, Edmund Howard and replacement Steve Downing.
