OKEHAMPTON firefighters attended a fire involving tyres and plastic bags on open ground in Ashwater after 9am last Saturday. The Okehampton crew and one from Holsworthy used one hose reel and two breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze which severely damaged the ground behind a retaining wall of a silage pit.
