A NATIONAL company has invested more than £700,000 to create the hub for its business on the Exeter Road Business Park in Okehampton. Independent Tyre Distributors Network Limited (ITDN), which previously had a premises in East Street, will now co-ordinate its business from the new Okehampton offices and expects to create new job opportunities as a result. ITDN provides its 400-plus independent garage owners a nationwide truck breakdown service, and the new 4,000 sq ft purpose built offices will accommodate the firm?s administration and call centre. The building will complement ITDN?s operation in Wareham and will initially have around 25 staff. Director of the firm Jean Dawe said it had been created with expansion and job creation in mind. ?The business continues to grow rapidly,? she said. ?Business increased by 25% in the last year and we handled 6,000 breakdowns in September alone. ?We expect to take on more staff in the future as we continue to expand and have ensured everyone who works at the new offices will have a pleasant working environment, including a wonderful view across Dartmoor.?
