Yelverton Typhoons v Plymstock

Yelverton Typhoons went through to the semi-final following a closely contested game against Plymstock.

With Plymstock batting first Yelverton opening bowlers D Ackford (4-0-8-1) and H Lopes (4-0-16-2) bowled a good line and length and the openers struggled to up the scoring rate.

Ackford dismissed P Steward for three with a catch off his own bowling while Lopes bowled P Sumner for five. M Blackmore and C O'Higgins then knuckled down to steady the innings before Blackmore was bowled by J Dent for 19. Dent who then bowled D Mills for a duck with his next delivery to leave the score on 41-4.

O'Higgins started to take the attack to the other Yelverton bowlers and compiled a useful 27 in partnership with W Ward before Plymstock innings closed on 80-4 off their 20 overs.

Ackford and E Degg opened the innings for Yelverton. Degg hit his wicket off the bowling of P Steward for four with the score on 19.

J Douie joined Ackford at the wicket and took the score along to 59 before Douie was run out for eight looking to scamper another quick single. H Lopes (11 no) was next man in, and in partnership with Ackford (56 no) saw Yelverton home on 81-2 off 18.2 overs.
