Chagford 3
Brixham Villa 1
STEVE Scott's second hat-trick in four days was the deciding factor in Chagford avenging the defeat at Brixham, less than two weeks previously. For a team with promotion aspirations, Villa were a mere shadow of themselves and never looked as though they would really bother their hosts.
Upton Athletic 4
Chagford 3
In their last match of the season, Chagford came very close to pulling off the result of the day against an Upton side that were pressing for second place in the league. Goals from Will Hutchison, Oscar Emanuel and Jon de Cruz just failed to win the points despite a brave effort, Upton scoring their winner right at the death. Another reasonable end-of-season finish has seen the Moormen gain a top half place, with the chance of finishing sixth depending on results elsewhere.
SDFL Division 5
Stoke Fleming Res 0
Chagford Res 2
Stoke Flemings' promotion hopes were put to the sword, thanks in part to Adam Stocks's first goals of the season.
With top scorer Jon Scarry ruled out with a hamstring strain, Stocks came up with the goods and more than justified his willingness in supporting the team. With just two defeats in ten games, Chagford's late surge is on course to land them a top five finish which may have been bettered had they started the season this well.
Harbertonford Reserves 1
Chagford Reserves 6
The Reserves completed their season with a long mid-week trip to Fords but secured fifth place in division five with goals from Chris Woof (2); Martin Haxton (2); Steve Scott (1) and James Licence (1). In the words of a Harbertonford stalwart, 'A nice bunch of lads but they totally outplayed us on the night'.
The Club would like to thank their supporters, sponsors and helpers for seeing them through the season, particularly in recent weeks that have seen many matches in seemingly few days.
With others' thoughts turning to the World Cup, Chagford will be planning ahead to a new venture in leaving the South Devon League for the Devon & Exeter League.
The club intends to continue the high standards it has set on and off the pitch, within a fresh environment that will hopefully lead to more success.
