A PLEASANT evening was had by all at the spring Taste and See dinner for ladies which was held for the first time at the recently opened Terrace Restaurant in Tavistock.
Sue Tucker spoke on the subject of 'Two Flocks and Two Folds'.
Sue has been living and working in the country for more than 30 years and during that time has become and enthusiastic sheep breeder, showing her prize animals at the major agricultural events in the region.
In the past two years she has moved jobs from nursing to working for the Church of England throughout Devon as the rural development officer for the Exeter diocese. This varied job includes a number of roles, but in particular providing pastoral support for the farming community. Hence Sue feels she has been given two flocks: the people and the sheep!
Ruth Newman thanked Sue for an inspiring talk.
The next Taste and See will be in June. Taste and See is organised by churches in the Tavistock area and is open to all women of any age. For information call Ruth Newman on 01822 616859.
