TWENTY years of successful twinning between Mary Tavy and Mery-Corbon in France was celebrated at a commemorative dinner at St Mellion Country Club recently.
During the evening, the founder of the twinning association Maurice Anning presented an inscribed block of polished Dartmoor granite to the Mery-Corbon association.
He was given a painting of the square in Mery-Corbon by Jacques Malandain, the founder of the French twinning group.
Entertainment during the evening was provided by The Wreckers, a Morris group.
Other events during the weekend included a visit to the Eden Project in Cornwall and a meal at Christopher's in Tavistock.
Anyone interested in joining Mary Tavy Twinning Association should call Paul Williams on 01822 810001.
The group holds various social events during the year, including quiz evenings, skittles nights, barbecues and of course, trips to France.
