VILLAGES in Action on April 22 will be hosting a special menu launch event for its promoters.

They will celebrate 20 years of running events and workshops in rural areas across Devon and look back at some of their achievements and the impact their work has had.

Live events in the heart of village life are an effective way to bring people together.

Events range from puppet shows to theatre, music and dance. Villages can generate funds from the events. They use ticket income to sustain the fabric of village halls as well as to invest in new equipment and shared resources.

Over the past 20 years, work has generated £184,600 of profits retained by village halls and has supported 120 participating communities,1,900 performances and workshops and 124,250 audience members.

The work of Villages in Action is supported by the Arts Council, West Devon Borough Council, Teignbridge District Council, Mid Devon District Council, East Devon District Council and Devon County Council.
