Tavistock Area Support Services celebrated its 21st birthday at the Anchorage Centre. Forty-eight people celebrated the event with bingo, dancing and socialising. Andy Lyle, general manager, expressed thanks to Jane?s Cakes from the Pannier Market for donating the birthday cake, and to Ginsters and Kensey foods for supplying the various nibbles. TASS recently received £1,039 from Plymouth?s Abbey National. The donation will help TASS develop a mobile information and advice service to help people living in isolation in West Devon. Angela Smith, from Abbey, said: ?Abbey was always looking at ways of helping the community, and the support of Tavistock Area Support Services shows commitment to making sure people get the advice they need relating to benefits.?
