Dawlish Villa 4
Okehampton Reserves 2
OKEHAMPTON travelled to lowly placed Dawlish Villa looking to take all three points, however the home side had other ideas.
Okehampton travelled with 12 players, and with a few having niggling injuries.
Playing on a narrow pitch Okehampton found themselves under the cosh from the start. The first Dawlish goal came after a quick counter attack and a quality finish by the home side striker.
Okehampton got back into the game and started to use wingers Paul Yip and Jerome Whatley in which the latter scored with a tidy finish.
Okehampton finished the half 2-1 down.
The second half started with a bang! Straight from kick-off Ian Reddington jinked past two players and crossed for captain Roger Voaden, whose shot could only be parried by the keeper, however, Chris Drew was on hand to smash in his 25th of the season.
Okehampton again battled hard and Ian Wilson and Paul Adams made some big challenges at the back.
The long ball towards the front two was cut out every time by the two massive Dawlish centre backs.
As Okehampton pushed forwards for the three points another fine finish from the Dawlish forward and an unfortunate fumble from the normally reliable keeper Pengelly ended the visitor's hopes of taking any points.
A below par performance by Okehampton. Things must improve for their last game of the season away to highly placed Broadclyst on the 22nd.
