A WEST Devon card shop was given regional recognition recently as it was highlighted on an ITV regional news feature.

Staff at the House of Cards in Tavistock were pleased to be interviewed for the feature, highlighting the success of independent shops around Valentine's Day.

Indre Grumovskiene, staff member at the shop, was asked by the interviewer for Westcountry Tonight whether this year had brought changes and a drop in sales.

Indre said: 'He was asking about Valentine's Day and I was telling him about our sales and our cards, and how people were looking for cheaper cards.

'We did not do so bad this year — we are lucky to have lots of people that support us.'

Other independent businesses such as florists and restaurants across the region were also featured.

Staff at the House of Cards expressed thanks to all the local people who continue to support the shop.
