THE Tuskers rugby team from Mary Tavy were victors at the Angus Colville knockout cup held at Tavistock Rugby Club last Saturday.

The event is held every year in memory of former club member Angus Colville, who was murdered in South America just before he was due to become president of Tavistock RFC.

This year's president, Trevor Masters, said despite the fact only four teams entered the knockout, the day was enjoyed by all, the final game being between the Tavistock A team and Tuskers.

'It was a very good day, a light-hearted day although of course you always play to win,' said Trevor.

About £200 was raised, which will be donated to the Devon Referees' Society, of which Angus Colville had close links.
