An opportunity to dip your toes into the world of Morris dancing is being offered by Lodestone, traditional border morris dancers.
The West Devon side are offering a month of taster evenings for new dancers and musicians from Thursday October 2 at Horrabridge Village Hall, starting at 8pm.
Foreman Chris Cunningham, who is responsible for teaching the dances, said: 'We welcome men and women to try out this fun and addictive traditional dance style
'We use a single and double step which is straightforward to learn and then a combination of different figures to create the dances.
'We are not a hanky waving side, we use sticks to strike the beat.'
Lodestone have just completed a highly successful summer season which saw them appearing at many local venues and events in West Devon, from Tavistock Steam Fair to a Tavistock-Celle Twinning evening, and several festivals, including Teignmouth where the side danced in the sea to end a memorable day.
Chris said: 'The sessions are free. All you need to bring is some enthusiasm and a sense of fun.'
For more information contact Chris on 01822 853856 or drop in for a warm welcome any Thursday evening.
