CHAMPION volunteers were celebrated at the South West Lakes Trust's 113th annual Volunteer's Awards.

Each year the region's largest combined environmental and recreational charity appreciates the invaluable help of volunteers with awards for the most dedicated.

Volunteers gave presentations of the type of work the charities carry out, including conservation, fishing and watersports tuition.

Volunteers in West Devon awarded at the ceremony included David Woodhouse for his contribution to conservation at Roadford Lake and Sue Rodgers for her contribution to education at Burrator Reservoir, among others.

After the ceremony attendees were invited to take part in some activities, including watersports and fishing, arranged by South West Lakes Trust staff.

Last year South West Lakes Trust accumulated nearly 3,000 days of assistance by volunteers and in return 57 days of training were offered in relevant skills.
