THE Rotary Club of Yelverton recently got to work building a secure play area in Princetown, thanks to funding from a West Devon charity.

The secure play area was built for seven-year-old Princetown resident Jacob Clifford. Jacob has autism and needs to be able to play in greater safety close to his home, so at the request of his mother Amanda, a fence was funded by the Mary Budding Trust, the mayor of Tavistock's nominated charity of the year, and planned by Rotarian Clive Fairchild of Tavistock Rotary Club.

The club expressed thanks to staff from Jewsons who were helpful in sourcing the necessary materials.

The Mary Budding Trust exists to help any child with special needs under the age of 11 living in West Devon. Anyone who would like to support the trust can contact the honorary secretary Ann McDonald on 01822 614580 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
