YOUNG disabled horse riders from West Devon were among the winners at a recent Riding for the Disabled county championship.
Six riders, who have riding lessons at South Nethercott Farm, entered the Devon County RDA show at Oaklands Stables at Alphington, near Exeter. Riders from across Devon took part in classes which included gymkhana, handy pony and jumping.
The disabled riding group meets every Wednesday at South Nethercott Farm between 6pm and 7.30pm. Members of the group have a range of physical disabilities and are aged between four and 14.
Next month, the group is holding a ten-mile fun ride over Dartmoor. It will set out from Okehampton Camp on Sunday, September 7. For further details contact group secretary Sue Honeybone on 01647 24398.
