OKEHAMPTON Golf Club ladies' section Sheelah Creasy team went to Torquay on June 26 where they played outstandingly well and won 4-3, an excellent result.

They continued their winning form on Friday when they met Bigbury at home, and beat them 5-2.

This means they have only one match to play, at home against Honiton.

As they have won all their home matches and now have an away win, to go with the away halved match against Exeter back in April, they are in with a chance of making the finals in September.

On Wednesday June 28, the ladies played their annual three clubs and a putter competition.

Winning with a good score of 31 points was Lyn Atkinson, second with 30 points was Doris Jewell, third, also with 30 points (losing on the back 9) was Eileen Piper. There were three '2s', Jenni Hutchinson, Doris Jewell and Gladys Thatcher.
