OKEHAMPTON Ladies? Tennis team have had three successful matches over the last few weeks. Away to Crediton playing against a well established team both pairs played good attacking tennis, winning 8-0. Against Exeter Golf and Country Club, playing on astro turf, the same pairs settled in well, winning 8-1. Home against Sidmouth on a hot humid evening Okehampton worked hard with three matches reaching three sets. In a closely fought match Angela Herrod-Taylor and Julia Moysey went one set down in a tie break before rallying to win the second 6-4 and the Championship tie break 10-3. The second match again went to three sets but Okehampton had the edge to win. Beth Carter and Jackie Jarvis also had two tough matches with the second going to three sets, winning 11-9 in the championship tie break. This encounter saw Okehampton win 6-5 ensuring that they remained at the top of the Exeter and District Tennis League Division 3. l ABOVE LEFT are last year?s victorious team with the trophy for Exeter and District Tennis League Division 4.
