A STALWART supporter of the Devon Air Ambulance Trust from Hatherleigh is stepping down from her volunteering, with the charity looking to find another supporter in the area.

Tricia Wonnacott has supported the trust for many years and has been an active volunteer for the past four years.

She has successfully managed a number of collection boxes in the town since 2008 but, due to family commitments and the forthcoming arrival of her first grandchild, she has now decided to pass the role on to someone else.

Debbie Collingwood, volunteer co-ordinator for DAAT, said: 'We are very grateful to Tricia for the help she has offered over the last four years.

'The income from our boxes is vital to our charity, raising nearly £200,000 in 2011, and we simply couldn't manage without our loyal and dedicated volunteers.

'Tricia has kindly offered to introduce a new volunteer to the outlets she goes to, to ensure a smooth handover.

'We would like to take this opportunity to thank Tricia for her time and commitment to date and to wish her and her family well for the future.'

If you, or someone you know, can take over from Tricia, or would like to volunteer for Devon Air Ambulance to help in any other way, please telephone Debbie Collingwood on 01392 466666, extension *122, or e-mail [email protected]">[email protected]
