A TEAM of five from the Holiday Cottages Marketing Team took on a 13-mile Mountain Challenge across Dartmoor in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care earlier this month.

The circular trek saw the team take on mountains, hilly moorland, and woodland starting and finishing at Widecombe on Dartmoor.

Upon finishing the course, the team were treated to a cream tea from a local café. The team managed to raise more than £500 pounds and completed the challenge in less than five hours.

Katie Bott said: 'The challenge was harder than any of us expected! We all keep fit, all of us run and one of the team is a rugby player and we still found it difficult, but that made completing the challenge all the more satisfying!'

Matt Carruthers from Marie Curie said: 'The team from Holiday Cottages did a fantastic job and their training paid off as they trekked 13 miles across Dartmoor's most challenging terrain.

'They were rewarded with a medal and certificate as they crossed the finish line. Thanks to Holiday Cottages, one lucky walker will also win £500 worth of Holiday Cottages vouchers.'

Marie Curie Cancer Care nurses visit the homes of terminally ill patients to provide vital and important care and allow those with precious time left to spend it in the comfort of their own home.
