TWO Somerfield stores in West Devon have raised just under £3,200 for Macmillan Cancer Support. This is part of an 'amazing' total of £1 million raised for Macmillan by staff and customers of Somerfield across the UK throughout 2007, to support people living with cancer. The Somerfield store in Okehampton raised £1,253.93 and the Tavistock store raised £1,917. Ciaran Devane of Macmillan Cancer Support, said: 'We are extremely grateful to Somerfield staff and customers for their tremendous support. 'The money raised will make a real difference to the lives of local people living with cancer. ' Pete Williams of Somerfield, said: 'We had a fantastic time raising money to fund important services in the community. 'We managed to raise a lot of money for a good cause and have enjoyed ourselves doing it.'
