FOR the 15th year running the Lions' Club's Trees of Light were switched on last Thursday (November 28) to raise money for local charities.
The lights are sponsored by individuals and organisations in memory of loved ones.
Club president Pat Macauley, who switched on the lights, thanked everyone who had sponsored a light, Morris Bros (Tavistock) Ltd for covering the costs, Jo and Graeme Moule for the trees, and staff of Tavistock Town Council for erecting them on the front of the town hall.
During the years that the Lions' Club has organised the trees nearly £65,000 has been raised for local charities.
A total of £6,900 was distributed from last year's trees.
To sponsor a light a sponsorship form can be obtained from the Lions website at http://www.tavistocklions">www.tavistocklions. org.uk or by calling 0845 8334807.
