THE sale of Christmas trees outside a Tavistock chainstore has netted a welcome boost for charity.

Nigel Nelson donated £1 from the sale of every tree he sold from the entrance at Safeway for around ten days before Christmas ? and with donations from customers, he has raised £357 which will be donated to Tavistock?s Molly Owen Centre.

Nigel was delighted with the donation ? and said next year, he intends to start collecting right from the start of his sale season at Safeway.

?I?m going to do something similar in Plymouth and certainly for Tavistock. I would like to do something specific for the area ? I think I?d probably like to focus on a children?s charity,? said Nigel.
