FOR THE first time in 40 years, Kelly Bray has got a village Christmas tree and 70 local residents turned out for the grand switch-on ceremony on Sunday.

The tree in Station Road was organised by the Kelly Bray Residents Association who were assisted by Callington Town Council, Ray Stephens Construction, Olver Electrics and Colin Hill Motors.

The lights were switched on by six-year-old resident Beau Britton and mulled wine, mince pies and other refreshments were served up at the Swingletree pub courtesy of landlady Dee Wicket.

The next meeting of the residents' association will be held on January 12 at the Kelly Bray WI Hall at 7.30pm.
