YELVERTON Fire Brigade went to an early 'rescue' yesterday morning (Wednesday) after a kitten managed to get itself stuck behind its owner's aquarium.
Firefighters were called at 6.39am to a bungalow in Harrowbeer Lane, Yelverton, where an inquisitive young kitten had trapped itself behind a cavity wall by the fish tank.
The crew eventually freed the cat using a wrecking bar, small tools and a thermal imaging camera.
Watch manager Fred Glanville said: 'It was only a little kitten but she couldn't find her way out after going through the cavity.
'We found it behind some air vents which we removed and managed to lure her out , unharmed, with some food.'
The kitten was returned to her relieved and grateful owner, who only had the kitten for a couple of weeks.
