LOCAL, regional and national transport issues will be discussed at the next rural transport forum meeting at the end of this month.
The forum meetings are convened by Devon County Council's transport co-ordination service and are open to anyone with an interest in their local transport services. A Devon County Council spokesman said the views of bus passengers were particularly sought.
The aims of the meetings are to identify unmet transport needs, provide local communities with public and community transport information, encourage co-operation between community schemes and improve the co-ordination of transport services.
In addition to these, the meeting on Monday, January 28 will discuss the Parish Transport Fund — which has grants for parish councils of up to 75 per cent of project costs for new transport services — and provide a new round-up of local, regional and national public and community transport issues.
The meeting will be at the Ockment Centre, Okehampton, at 7.30pm.
