OKEHAMPTON Past-Tablers Club has had to postpone its annual charter train trip to London until autumn next year.
Last year the club had to cancel the event because of the Paddington rail disaster.
For a variety of reasons including engineering works near Taunton, a train cannot be hired economically. The club has now provisionally booked a charter train from Okehampton to London for early November 2001.
The event, organised by the club two years ago, raised over £2,400 for Devon Air ambulance and other local charities. The organisers hope a similar amount can be raised by next year's charity train trip.
In November this year, the Past-Tablers will be organising their five-legged race around the pubs of Okehampton for Children in Need.
Entry forms will be available next month.
